A SPECIALIST Liverpool website developer has launched a new site to promote tourism and inward investment in Cardiff.
New Mind, which has become a UK leader in developing tourism websites, has used its pioneering e-Tourism platform to create the new online facility.
The new site – www.visitcardiff.com – will be run by the city’s destination marketing company, Cardiff & Co.
New Mind said the site “reflects Cardiff's status as the Capital of Wales, promoting its rich cultural heritage, unique attractions, top-class entertainment, innovative architecture, quality shopping and peaceful parklands”.
The firm, based at the Queens Dock Business Centre, now controls an estimated 60% of the UK market for official tourism websites.
Using its own eCMS (Enterprise Content Management System) and DMS (Destination Management System), New Mind offers its clients features including interactive mapping, itinerary planners and video-enhanced product listings.
The Cardiff site is integrated with Visit Britain’s national “polling engine”, which enables accommodation booking with availability suppliers such as Late Rooms and Active Hotels.
The project also involved the development of an events site, www. eventsincardiff.com and a site promoting Cardiff as one of the UK’s leading convention destinations, www.meetincardiff.com
New Mind began working with tourism officials in south east Wales last year, and these sites are the first products from that partnership.
