Cheshire car dealerships named in world top 10 for luxury marques

TWO Cheshire luxury motor dealerships have broken into the world’s top 10 for retail sales, beating rival businesses in the likes of Manhattan, Moscow and Tokyo.

Out of 74 authorised Rolls-Royce dealers across the globe, Knutsford-based Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manchester was named the 10th largest, having sold 26 new vehicles throughout 2009, which also earned the Canute Place showroom second place in the UK rankings.

The nearby Bentley Manchester dealership also triumphed over tough competition from 120 dealers worldwide to land a coveted top 10 position alongside locations such as Riyadh, Beverly Hills and Beijing.

With its £5m purpose-built dealership on Mobberley Road attracting clients from across the UK during 2009, its sales were boosted by the Bentley Continental GTC which proved to be the most popular model.

Jon Crossley, managing director of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manchester and Bentley Manchester, said: “This is a fantastic accolade.

“Based on sales volume, both dealerships have outperformed authorised dealerships worldwide, ensuring the North West now boasts two world-class dealerships, and underpinning Cheshire’s reputation as the most exclusive place to live in the UK next to the capital.”
