AIRBUS has appointed Mark Barclay as the new boss at the company’s wing-making complex near Chester.
As senior vice-president, head of Wing and Pylon Centre of Excellence. he will oversee all wing and pylon-related work for the company in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, the USA and China.
He will join Airbus on May 4 and will be based at the company’s Broughton site, near Chester.
Mr Barclay, 45, takes over from Brian Fleet, of Bebington, Wirral, who will retire in June after 36 years of service with the company.
He joins Airbus from Thales, and has nearly 30 years of international experience in the defence, aerospace and services industries.
Most recently he held the position of chief operating officer at Thales UK.
