Liverpool’s Pageant of Power officially launched

LIVERPOOL’S Pageant of Power was officially launched last night with a gathering of the organisations which have brought the event to Liverpool.

The evening of May 25 will see a parade of vehicles from Army Challenger tanks to supercars along The Strand.

It has been backed by firms from across the city, including the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo, Grosvenor, Ernst & Young and Flanagan Group, alongside Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Vision and The Mersey Partnership.

Event director James Hall said: “We targeted Liverpool as it is a close-knit city that we were confident would get behind such an event – the support we have received has, however, passed our expectations and created a real buzz of excitement around the city.”

Guy Butler, project director at Grosvenor and developer of Liverpool One, was key in bringing a team of backers together.

“This type of activity is a symbol of everything that is great about Liverpool – commercial and civil leaders working together to deliver an exciting and rewarding vision for the city,” he said.
