THE coalition Government has been urged to halt the “relentless flow” of red tape, after a new study said the cost to business was £88.3bn last year.
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said the figure soared by £11bn over the year after 40 new regulations were introduced by the Labour administration.
BCC director general David Frost said: “During this critical time for the economy, we need businesses to be driving the recovery and creating jobs.”
