THE Metquarter is hosting a table football World Cup for the city’s businesses in aid of men’s charity CALM.
Next Thursday, June 10, it will stage its own tournament with 32 teams battling it out on the table football pitches to grab the winning title and competing for Metquarter prizes.
Teams from Medicash, Ford, Clarity Creation, Rapid, Rampworx, City Central, Another Media, Signature Café, Goss Media and Gossip Magazine are already signed up.
Jonathan Kane, director of international business development of Liverpool FC, is characteristically competitive about the event.
He said: “We are all really excited and geared up for the competition and given that we work for a football club, we'll have our own physio, masseuse, psychologist and chef with us.”
Martyn Green, a partner at King Sturge, said: “As soon as I heard about the Corporate Metquarter World Cup Competition I was keen to have King Sturge on board. We are very competitive and we would love to win the title – bring it on!”
It is from 6.30pm-9pm and interested teams can sign up online or by calling Vicki Hughes on 0151 224 2399.
