Stockbrokers Charles Stanley moves into 20 Chapel Street

STOCKBROKER Charles Stanley is relocating a 45-strong division into offices at 20 Chapel Street, in Liverpool.

The investment management group acquired Griffiths & Armour Financial Services in late 2008, and is now moving it from its Water Street offices.

It is taking 7,600 sq ft on the first floor – adding to recent lettings to Liverpool Football Club, which has taken 30,000 sq ft, and interactive voice messaging specialist Qire, which has 4,000 sq ft.

William Coleman, marketing manager for Rumford Investments, which secured the letting, believes the deal demonstrates the strength of the property’s offer

He said: “The building has become the premier commercial address in Liverpool, and is proving its quality and prestige through the number of lettings achieved so far in 2010.

“Despite the difficult market, we have let nearly 42,000 sq ft so far this year and will be making further letting announcements in the very near future.”

Paul McGuckin, managing director of Griffiths & Armour Financial Services, said: “We are looking forward to our move into 20 Chapel Street and hope to be operating from our new premises in the near future.

“The move offers us a superb platform from which we can continue to grow and develop our well-established Liverpool business.”

Charles Stanley has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1852, and has more than £12m of funds under management.

Its acquisition of Griffiths & Armour Financial Services gave the firm its first foothold in the Liverpool financial services and wealth management market.

It will join several other financial services firms in 20 Chapel Street, including Barclays Wealth, Bank of Ireland, Ernst & Young and Panmure Gordon.

The agents on the scheme are Mason Owen, Hitchcock, Wright & Partners and DTZ.
