WARRINGTON wi-fi provider Airangel has promoted sales manager Dean Wilkinson to managing director after he led the drive to double the company’s turnover to £1.4m in the last year.

His appointment comes as Warrington-based Airangel, which specialises in branded wired and wireless guest internet access for the hospitality and conferencing industries, reported a 130 per cent increase in internet connections.

The company has branched into new sectors including sports stadia – working with rugby union side Sale Sharks and LeagueOne club MK Dons – car showrooms and yacht clubs.

It has also welcomed new clients including Hampton by Hilton, Principal Haley and Holiday Inn Express hotels as well as accountancy practice, Baker Tilly.

Mr Wilkinson said: “We’re part of a mobile age and the internet is a daily part of our lives, so much so that guest internet access is an essential component for many businesses, whether it’s allowing staff to hot desk or giving hotel guests access to online services.
