CRAIG RICHMOND has built a career in business management, financial turnaround and organisational change since leaving the Canadian Air Force.
From 1980 to 1990, he served as a military pilot, flying jet fighters, including Starfighter and F-18 aircraft.
After leaving the military, Vancouver-born Mr Richmond earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Manitoba.
He served in managerial positions at Vancouver International Airport Authority until his appointment in 1998 as vice- president of airport operations, responsible for the movement of 16m passengers a year and a 120-strong workforce.
From 2006 to last month, he was president and chief executive of the largest and busiest airport in the Bahamas, Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport.
He was responsible for leading the privatisation of the £26.5m turnover airport, transforming the asset from a loss-making government department to a profitable enterprise, including a £93.3m redevelopment project.
In June this year, he was appointed as the new chief executive of Peel Airports.
