THE deputy chairman of the Northwest Development Agency, Vanda Murray, has been appointed chair as non-executive chairman of green technology company VPhase.
VPhase, based in Capenhurst, Cheshire, has designed technology to help householders save power by keeping the voltage in their homes at a steady level.
Ms Murray, 49, was chief executive of technology company Blick, where she doubled its market cap in two years before orchestrating a sale to US company Stanley Works. She also serves on the boards of the Manchester Airport Group and Carillion and in 2002 was appointed OBE for services to industry.
Ms Murray, who has worked with VPhase for four months as a consultant, succeeds founder Adrian Hutchings as chair. He said: “I have worked closely with Vanda for the past few months and believe that her skills and experience will give VPhase the commercial vision it requires to transition VPhase to a fully commercial success.”
