APPRENTICES from industrial training firm Waterside Training have been recognised at an awards ceremony.

The St Helens-based company provides trainees for a number of companies including Pilkington, NGF Europe, Goodrich Actuation Systems and Heinz.

Adam Swift, who is sponsored by Goodrich Actuation Systems, was named Apprentice of the Year.

Other winners included high achiever Scott Campbell, Liam Donnelly as most improved apprentice, and Robert Taylor.

Waterside’s first-year apprentices were all awarded with a certificate of training.

Waterside Training is focused on electrical and mechanical engineering and advanced apprenticeship programmes.

Waterside Training grew out of Lakeside Training and Development, which was Pilkington’s in-house training company until 1996.

It is based at St Helens College’s technology campus.
