THE North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA) is following up leads with eight countries following the Farnborough International Air Show.
During the show there were visits made to the NWAA stand from eight delegations made up of companies and cluster organisations from Australia, Brazil, China, India, Italy, Mexico, Canada and the US.
The organisation had a major presence at the show, occupying 4,500 sq ft of stand space, with 49 member companies joining the pavilion.
The NWAA also had a representative of the government’s UK Trade and Investment body present who held meetings with other interested organisations from around the world.
This year, the Farnborough Air Show attracted a total of 228,000 visitors, with $47bn of business announced from 1,455 exhibitors representing 44 countries.
During the event, the NWAA also announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Aéro Montréal, its sister organisation in Canada, which will see the two cluster groups working closely together.
Martin Wright, chief executive of the NWAA, said: “It’s exciting to see the work of the NWAA being recognised by aerospace sectors overseas in this way.”
