FORTY per cent of former Woolworths stores, about 300, still remain empty – but this is a reduction from 60% a year ago, new research shows.
The report by retail specialist The Local Data Company also shows the regional imbalance of a year ago has levelled out.
The greatest change has been seen in the North East, from only 10% occupied to over 55%. The North West went from 38% occupancy in July 2009 to 59% occupancy in July 2010.
