Edward Symmons wins Machine Mart rating deal

EDWARD SYMMONS’S Liverpool team has been appointed by the UK’s leading tools and equipment superstore chain, Machine Mart, to act on its behalf at the 2010 Rating Revaluation.

This instruction will see Edward Symmons seek ways of reducing the annual business rates costs by challenging new rating assessments that were introduced in April.

Machine Mart, which has branches in Liverpool and Chester as well as in 54 other locations across the UK, holds property with a rateable value of more than £1.75m.

David King, ratings specialist in Edward Symmons’s Liverpool team, said: “Machine Mart, like many businesses, has recognised the need to ensure that their property costs, of which business rates form a large part, are kept to an absolute minimum.

“Rates are a major outgoing for organisations, large and small.”
