CENTRE Island Hotels made “good progress” after a period of adjustments to its portfolio.
The Liverpool-based group operates eight UK hotels and four in the Republic of Ireland.
These include the Crowne Plaza Liverpool, Holiday Inn hotels in Liverpool and Cheshire Oaks, Holiday Inn Express at Albert Dock and boutique hotel 62 Castle Street.
It made a marginal loss of £90,000 on a turnover of £42.3m in the 16 months to December, 2009.
Annualised sales were up 7%, although this includes the Crowne Plaza Manchester, which opened in August, 2008, just two days before the accounting period began, and the renovated Crowne Plaza Birmingham, which reopened in October, 2008.
Centre Island also owned the Holiday Inn Express at Liverpool John Lennon Airport during the financial period, although sold it last month to Peel Leisure, part of the group which co-owns the airport.
The group’s strategy is now focused on large town centre and city centre hotel developments.
