Merseyside firms unite for anti-knife crime campaign

TWO Merseyside businesses are joining forces to highlight the issue of knife crime among young people.

Liverpool-based HIT, which delivers drugs, community safety and health campaigns, is working with Crosby-based Four Seasons Publishing to produce “Down Tools – the stuff on knife crime”.

It will comprise a colour publication with advice and information about knife crime to be distributed to young people across Merseyside.

There will also be talks given to youngsters in schools.

Professor Pat O’Hare, of HIT, and Paul Hanson, of Four Seasons, are now seeking business sponsorship for the project, which it is hoped will be launched in January next year.

Professor O’Hare said: “We are hoping to get a main business sponsor for each of the six boroughs in the Liverpool city region.

“The aim of this project is to actually try to engage with the kids.

“Just like drugs, it is not enough to just say ‘don’t do this’.”
