LIVERPOOL’S Design Symposium is back for a third year – and organisers are planning to expand the event to Manchester in 2011.
The event aims to showcase the city’s design sector and bring some of the UK’s leading designers to Liverpool to share their wisdom.
The event, first held in 2008, was called Liverpool Design Symposium but has this year been rebranded as Design Symposium North.
Its organisers now hope to hold a sister event in Manchester in 2011. The Merseyside event will be held at Liverpool John Moores University’s Art and Design Academy on Thursday, November 25.
Simon Rhodes, creative and managing director at Smiling Wolf, said: “The symposiums have been fantastically well-received locally and beyond.
“We’ve got great feedback from the North West, and people are interested in this event in the UK and farther afield.
“It reinforces the fact that Liverpool has the infrastructure to put on something like this, and the will and desire to make it a success.
“It’s for design professionals as well as students. Being at LJMU, we have a whole morning of workshops and events to make it really powerful for students. But it will be a great event for professionals as well.”
