Liverpool jeweller Boodles contemplates international expansion after opening within London’s Savoy Hotel

LIVERPOOL jeweller Boodles is considering international expansion after opening a new boutique in London’s Savoy Hotel, following its recent £200m makeover.

The store is the firm’s fifth in the capital and ninth in total, and could pave the way for further openings in prestigious hotel locations.

Managing director Nicholas Wainwright said: “This is a very exciting new concept for the company and if successful will be repeated at other appropriate hotels in other countries.

“We are thrilled to have opened our ninth store in the wonderfully restored Savoy Hotel in London.

“This is the first Boodles boutique within an internationally-known five-star hotel. We expect to meet a diverse and cosmopolitan visitor to London, who we hope will enjoy the Boodles experience.”

The firm, based in its Liverpool Lord Street flagship store, was founded in 1798 and has been guided by six generations of the Wainwright family.
