Liverpool design agency Uniform’s Ghost Stories video shown at 178 cinemas

Ghost Stories

A VIDEO created by Liverpool design agency Uniform to promote spooky play Ghost Stories has been shown at cinemas throughout the South East.

The viral video was created to promote the Liverpool Playhouse’s eerie production, which proved a smash hit in Liverpool before transferring to the West End.

The show was first performed at Hammersmith’s Lyric Theatre, whose managers say the Uniform video helped drum up ticket sales.

Now Ghost Stories, written by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, is running at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

And last week it was used as a cinema trailer at 178 Odeon cinemas in London and the South East. It was shown before horror films Paranormal Activity 2, and Saw 3D, and is estimated to have been seen by 250,000 people.

Uniform managing director Nick Howe said: “There was a great opportunity to target a completely new audience – a young audience, that wouldn’t typically go to theatres. Creating a cinema-style ad was the perfect medium to entice people to this theatre experience.

“The fact that they’re now rolling out the film across South East cinemas proves that this relatively untapped technique and approach is effective as the show has already been extended.”
