SOUTHPORT shrimper Christian Peet is delighted after getting the Royal seal of approval for his produce.
Mr Peet, who runs Southport Seafoods, was taken aback when Prince Charles praised the brown potted shrimp his company provided at a recent dinner.
The father-of-two described the moment as one of the finest of his life.
He said: “We attended an evening to celebrate ‘Start’ which is a national initiative by the Prince’s Charities Foundation to promote and celebrate sustainable living.
“Our potted brown shrimps were served as part of the menu plus there was a two-minute video documentary clip highlighting our work.
“It was one of the proudest moments in my career and life to be there as I watched Prince Charles eat my shrimps.”
Following the meal Christian received a letter from a the Prince of Wales’ secretary, Benet Northcote. who wrote: “The Prince of Wales has asked me to thank you most sincerely for your contribution to the wonderful dinner – the shrimps were absolutely delicious.”
