No specialist help for Merseyside jobless after spending cuts bite next year

NO SPECIALIST help will be available for the jobless in Merseyside when the draconian spending cuts bite next year, the Government admitted.

There will be a gap of many months between the winding up of Labour's job schemes and the introduction of a new private-sector led Work Programme.

The crunch will come in April when the £1bn “Future Jobs Fund” for the young jobless ends because the Work Programme will not be launched until the summer, at the earliest.

It is April when an unprecedented £81bn of spending cuts will begin – cuts that are predicted to trigger at least one million job losses.
