St Helens Chamber with the 2010 British Chambers of Commerce chamber of the year award 300
ST HELENS CHAMBER has been named the best in the country for the second time in four years.
It was selected as Chamber of the Year at the British Chambers of Commerce awards in London.
Liverpool-based social enterprise Blackburne House picked up the Green Award, which was collected by its enterprise director, Jo McGrath.
St Helens Chamber, which has more than 1,250 members, was credited by the judges for the way it represents the local business community and how its actions have helped to drive through positive changes.
Steve Gange, chairman of St Helens Chamber, said: “Winning this award is particularly satisfying as it means our work to support the businesses and people of St Helens has been officially recognised.
“We have a very supportive membership in St Helens and this is one of the reasons we won the award. I hope they will all join us in celebrating this win for St Helens.”
It was previously named Chamber of the Year in 2007.
