THE former chief executive of the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) has been appointed to the newly-created position of Professor of Entrepreneurial Education at Liverpool Hope University.
Steven Broomhead, who led the NWDA for seven years, began his career in education before moving into the public sector at Warrington Council.
He said: “I welcome the opportunity to work with a very distinctive and very successful university that is in many ways unique.
“I will be helping to position the University for the new higher education open market, while maintaining its distinctive mission and values.
“I’ll also be helping establish Liverpool Hope as a centre of excellence for entrepreneurial education and of support for small and medium enterprises.”
Liverpool Hope’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Gerald Pillay, said: “Steven Broomhead brings together a real understanding of economic development and a firm commitment to top quality education.”
