A HIGH-LEVEL delegation from China is visiting Liverpool today to assess the city as a potential investment location.
Directors from the Shanghai Clinical Research Centre arrived in the city last night and will tour some of Liverpool’s main bioscience sites, including MerseyBio, as well as the Clinical Research Facility at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Dr Rongxing Gan, president and CEO, Dr Jiong Zhang, vice president and Dr Yang Zhang, vice director of the Biobank Department, will also hear a presentation on the proposed new hospital, the BioInnovation Centre and the BioCampus.
Tony Bell, chief executive of Royal Liverpool University Hospital, said: “This partnership will be fundamental to the development of the Liverpool Biocampus and its BioInnovation Centre, and the place of Liverpool’s clinical research facilities on the world stage of the future.”
Liverpool Vision’s deputy chief executive, Mike Taylor, said the visit came as a result of the city’s presence at the World Expo in Shanghai, which finished in October.
