SALES of luxury marques Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) continued to improve last month.
JLR owner, Indian conglomerate Tata, released monthly figures that showed total sales for the two brands rose by 22% to 22,957 vehicles last month, compared with November, 2009.
Jaguar achieved sales of 5,621 vehicles, which was a 30% improvement.
Land Rover, including Knowsley car plant Halewood’s successful Freelander 2 model, achieved a 20% increase in vehicle sales to 17,336 last month.
Total sales of the two marques during the fiscal year have reached 154,089 units, which is 33% ahead of the previous year’s sales. That includes 38,620 Jaguar sales, up by 22%, and 115,469 Land Rover vehicles, which is a 37% increase.
Halewood is currently preparing for the July launch next year of its latest model, the Range Rover Evoque, which has created 1,500 new jobs producing the company’s most eco-friendly model.
