Lovell recruits four Merseyside apprentices

FOUR men from Merseyside are building construction careers, after being recruited as apprentices by affordable housing developer Lovell.

Rob Higgins, Marc Sinclair, Billy Roberts and Tom Burroughs have all secured places on the Lovell apprentice training programme.

Mr Higgins, who lives in Tranmere, and Mr Sinclair, from Huyton, have joined the company as apprentice bricklayers. Mr Roberts, who lives in Bootle, and Mr Burroughs, from Clubmoor, have been taken on as trainee carpenters.

On site, Mr Higgins and Mr Sinclair are studying towards NVQ Level 2 qualifications in bricklaying, while the other two are undertaking the same qualification in carpentry and joinery.

The quartet is now working alongside experienced tradespeople to gain the practical experience they need to become fully qualified.

Throughout their apprenticeships, they will receive support and guidance from Lovell craft trainee supervisor Paul Woby, who oversees their training.
