Construction firm Morgan Sindall backs Cardinal Heenan school allotment

GREEN-fingered pupils at West Derby’s Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School for Boys have benefited from a welcome donation from construction firm Morgan Sindall.

The firm, which has a Liverpool regional office, is currently building new facilities at the school and at the neighbouring Broughton Hall High School for Girls.

Construction workers donated gardening equipment as well as hard hats and clothing to help students working on the school allotment.

Morgan Sindall senior project manager Peter Durkin said: “We presented the school with a host of equipment including spades, forks and hammers.

“As a local company we pride ourselves on supporting our neighbouring communities. We are thrilled to see young people taking an active interest in outdoor learning.”

The construction firm is building new teaching blocks as well as a shared sixth form facility which forms a bridge between the new schools, due to be completed in September 2012.
