Cllr Joe Anderson and David Burrows, chief executive of Benmore Group 300
LIVERPOOL’S embassy in London, launched last week with Parliamentary fanfare, has already received further support from a property developer.
The Benmore Group, which is involved in a multi-million pound proposal for a leisure and entertainment development at a 50-acre site in Speke that could create 300 jobs, has taken an ambassador package to support the embassy.
Benmore chief executive David Burrows said: “We will use the embassy to reach out to potential investors, tenants and partners and as a platform to showcase some of the major developments we are involved in.”
The company, headquartered in Belfast, is also redeveloping the former Pioneer Buildings, on Dale Street, to create a 123-bedroom hotel.
Cllr Joe Anderson, leader of Liverpool City Council, said: “It’s fantastic that a company not even based here in Liverpool should be expressing such confidence in our plans and in the city itself and be willing to invest alongside us in activity to continue the city’s regeneration.”
The Liverpool embassy, which launched last week at an event at the House of Commons, is in a building in Broad Street, in central London.
It will be used by private and public sector organisations with an interest in Liverpool to encourage businesses and others to find out more about investing in and doing business in the city.
