RECRUITMENT firm Hays is working with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) to help graduates find employment.
It has launched an online career development tool, Careers Plus, which offers a job search facility to over 12,000 jobs and also gives graduates the opportunity to take part in career development modules so that they can gain the skills required to get a job.Š
The portal is open to LJMU alumni at any stage of their career, from their first job, re-entering the career world or when looking for the next career step.
Terry Dray, director of the Graduate Development Centre at LJMU said: “With research showing graduate unemployment has reached its highest level in 17 years and the cost of going to university rising, we recognise the need to provide additional support to our graduates once they have left our university.
“Universities have consistently failed to deliver provision of this type for their graduates, but Careers Plus illustrates our continuing commitment to innovate in providing creative career support solutions.”
Hays’s Gaelle Blake said: “Careers Plus has been developed to help LJMU graduates understand what employers are looking for and think about how best to demonstrate they are the most suitable person for the job.
“We hope that other universities will follow suit.”
