Bromborough recruitment firm Russell Taylor staff investment yields turnover boost

MORE than a threefold increase in turnover has been achieved by Bromborough-based technical recruitment and training firm Russell Taylor Associates.

Revenues for 2010 reached £9m, compared with £2.95m in 2009.

The firm, situated on Riverside Park, also gained 37 new clients during its most recent financial year. Net profits increased from £40,000 in 2009 to £245,000 in 2010, while staffing at its three locations in Bromborough, Chester and Anglesey increased to 36 from 17.

Managing director Ben Russell said: “There’s no denying it’s been a challenging year, but we’ve thrived against the odds. We focused heavily on expanding our team, with quality individuals, so that we could develop our services for clients and candidates.ŠThis has been reflected in our significant increase in turnover.”

Looking ahead, he believes the firm will achieve organic growth of at least 150% during 2011, and he added that expansion could also involve acquisitions.

“We continue to have ambitious plans for 2011 and are looking to acquire up to three similar businesses from anywhere in the UK who are turning over around £3m-£4m.”

Turnover this year is estimated at £13.75m, while net profits of £595,000 are expected, and headquarters staffing is forecast to increase to 40, to support the firm’s ambitious growth plans. Mr Russell added: “To see a three-fold increase in turnover compared to the same period last year is very encouraging, particularly in the current market.

“While some sectors – such as construction – have been struggling, we have focused on other expanding areas such as renewable energy.”
