Analysts predicting first profit for pay TV, broadband and phones group Virgin Media

VIRGIN Media, the pay TV, broadband and phones group, is forecast to make its first profit this year, say weekend reports.

The firm, which employs 1,000 staff at three sites in Knowsley and Liverpool, is expected to more than halve losses to £157m when it announces results for 2010 this Thursday.

But improved cash flow and targeting more “high value” customers have led to predictions by analysts of a £100m profit for 2011, the company’s first surplus.
