A CHINESE student who greeted visitors to the Liverpool pavilion at the World Expo in Shanghai is visiting the city for the first time.
Wu Kanlun, whose English name is Steven, was selected from a draw at the end of the World Expo.
He has visited London and spent time working in the Liverpool Business Embassy.
The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Hazel Williams, showed him around the Town Hall and during his time in Liverpool he is visiting many of the city’s attractions, including The Beatles Story, the city’s two football clubs and The World Museum.
Steven said: “The World Expo was about putting your city on the map and giving visitors a flavour of the life that people lead there and I think Liverpool really achieved that.
“I’ve seen the sights in London and the Liverpool Embassy and I’m excited about seeing Liverpool.”
Cllr Williams said: “Their professionalism and commitment was a credit to them and I am delighted to welcome Steven to Liverpool.”
