Skymark deal to see A380s fly over the land of the rising sun

SKYMARK Airlines will become the first Japanese company to operate the Airbus A380, after it ordered four of the aircraft.

Japan’s third largest airline confirmed a memorandum of understanding that was announced in November, 2010.

The wings for the aircraft will be built at Airbus’s Broughton plant.

Total orders for the A380 stand at 244 from 19 customers worldwide, of which 43 aircraft have been delivered to five customers.

Airbus president and chief executive, Tom Enders, said: “We are pleased to welcome Skymark as our newest and first Japanese A380 customer.
