Widnes Regeneration to build new business park

A NEW business park is to be built on a 12-acre site in Widnes.

Widnes Regeneration, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties and Halton Council, is bringing Harrier Business Park to market.

The site will offer bespoke design and build opportunities for firms with units available from 20,000 sq ft to 80,000 sq ft.

Located in Gorsey Lane, Harrier Business Park will provide the relocation opportunities for businesses affected by the Mersey Gateway crossing – the proposed six-lane toll bridge connecting Widnes and Runcorn.

Situated within the Widnes Waterfront economic development zone, the site offers transport links to both the M62 and A557.

Richard Bakes, development manager at St Modwen, said: “After the success of the adjacent Heron Business Park, Harrier was the natural progression to enhance our business offering at Widnes Waterfront and demonstrates our confidence in the marketplace here.

“Heron has been an extremely popular choice for the region’s businesses. The first phase is already fully occupied and within phase II, over 60% of the units are now occupied.

“The remaining units range from 2,129 sq ft to 9,507 sq ft.

“Harrier will offer tenants the same combination of high-quality accommodation and strategic location, and we are confident it will not be long before interested parties start to come forward.”

Dixon Webb and GVA are joint agents for the scheme.

Leader of Halton Council, Cllr Rob Polhill, said: “This is another positive move in the regeneration of the Widnes Waterfront.

“With its great location and excellent accommodation, it is set to be a very attractive proposition for businesses.

“In the last decade, Widnes Regeneration has completely transformed and revitalised the town centre, acting as a catalyst for substantial new investment in adjoining areas.”
