RBS's Rob Grace with Steve Slater of the Hub Alehouse 300
BUSINESS partners Mark Friend and Steve Slater have opened a new gastropub inside one of Liverpool’s most famous buildings after securing funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
The duo, who already own three French Bistros in Liverpool city centre, have invested more than £250,000 to launch the Hub Alehouse & Kitchen inside the Casartelli Building in Hanover Street.
The interior of the Grade-II listed building has been transformed into a light, open plan space which is capable of accommodating up to 160 customers.
The Hub’s menu is inspired by traditional British pub fare, while the bar features several cask ales. The venture has led to the creation of 38 new jobs.
