North West firms hold charity auction

LIVERPOOL law firm DWF and building consultancy EC Harris are to hold a charity auction in Manchester tomorrow, in order to raise money for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal, the Christie Charitable Fund and the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

The charity auction will see the staff, clients and contacts of both firms from across the North West gather together to try to raise £10,000 for the three charities.

This is the final event in the Community Challenge series which EC Harris held across the UK during 2010-11.

The three charities nominated by EC Harris and DWF all need money to improve services at local hospitals.

The auction will be held at 7.30pm at the Pitcher & Piano, Deansgate Locks, in Manchester, and there will be a number of prizes up for auction including a holiday in Spain, a helicopter ride over the city and a selection of top quality sports memorabilia.

Scott Motley, partner and North West location leader for EC Harris, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for our local charities.

“It is essential we work to support our local communities and a large scale charity auction is a great way to raise money by bringing friends and work colleagues together.”

Pandora Barber, construction and engineering specialist at DWF, added: “I believe we will raise a significant amount of money.”
