Regional Business Awards 2010 300
THREE more awards fall under the spotlight this week as the entry deadline for the 2011 Regional Business Awards draws nearer.
There are just two weeks to go before entries finally close for the event.
Economic development agency Liverpool Vision is sponsoring the Investment of the Year award, for businesses that can demonstrate how investment since January, 2010, has had a beneficial impact on its business and local economy.
Its chief executive, Max Steinberg, said: “Liverpool Vision is delighted to sponsor the Investment of the Year Award at the Daily Post Regional Business Awards.
“Over the past year, and despite the tough economic conditions for businesses, we have seen significant new investment by existing companies and those new to the city.
“This demonstrates Liverpool’s position as a leading UK business destination and its strengths in professional and financial services, advanced manufacturing, logistics, creative industries and biotechnology.”
The Jaguar Land Rover Corporate Social Responsibility award will be presented to the private sector business or individual judged to have the best history of taking into account the effect of the business operations on the community and the economy.
It said: “Jaguar Land Rover is a company which is firmly focused on engineering and manufacturing innovative, exciting and high-quality vehicles, and doing so in a way which reduces the impact of its products and processes on the environment.
“We employ more than 4,000 designers, engineers and technologists responsible for bringing the next generation of desirable, low-carbon products to market. Jaguar Land Rover is undertaking a massive £800m investment programme which is directly focused on environmental innovation – including hybrid and electrification technologies – that will reduce the carbon footprint of its vehicles.
“Our greener new products, the Jaguar XJ luxury sports saloon and the Range Rover Evoque, illustrate just part of the progress that the company is making towards a more sustainable and successful future.”
The Green Award will recognise the work of business that has made a positive contribution to the environment.
