HASKONING UK, which has a major base in Liverpool, has received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
The firm received the award in recognition of its growth in international trade over a three-year period.
During those three years, the turnover Haskoning has generated from overseas trade has almost doubled.
Income from international projects now represents nearly half of its total turnover.
The Liverpool office was opened seven years ago and has now grown to 25 permanent maritime and environmental engineering staff working on both local and international projects.
The local projects range from working with Peel Ports developing the detailed design for the new Seaforth River Terminal and other infrastructure projects including major gate refurbishments for the Langton and Gladstone lock entrances to the Port.
Internationally the Liverpool office is designing a new facility for the Royal Oman Coast Guard.
