MADDIE WASHINGTON has scooped a national award from Costa Coffee, after her Allerton Road shop, in Liverpool, was judged to be the best in the UK.
The south Liverpool outlet has seen a massive increase in sales in the last 12 months, and Costa Coffee’s franchise director, Steve Holloway, named her shop the Individual Franchise Store of the Year for 2010-11 at Costa’s national conference.
Mr Holloway said: “This was a really richly-deserved award for the store, which achieved increased food capture by over 4% and increased like-for-like sales by over 10%.
“It was a real privilege to be able to present Maddie with the award at the conference where she also scooped a video camera in our conference game show.”
Ms Washington added: “This is a huge success which we are all proud of. Our nearest rival had nowhere near the Costa Check (the Costa audit) average percentage, never mind the amount of perfect scores, which is a company all-time record.”
