BUSINESSES and workers in south Liverpool can learn the benefits of a sustainable travel plan this Thursday.
A noon Travel Fair at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Speke, will feature representatives from the transport, health and environment sectors who will outline how travel policies can deliver a sustainable, environmentally-friendly and healthy lifestyle.
It is specifically aimed at the Estuary Commerce Park, Liverpool International Business Park, New Mersey Retail Park and other employers.
Speakers will use the award-winning Estuary Commerce Park travel plan as an example of what can be achieved.
The plan, led by economic development company Liverpool Vision, was aimed at reducing single occupancy car use, increasing accessibility for all modes of transport, and promoting better links between organisations to find common transport solutions.
It was described by judges in December’s Travel Wise Awards as “truly outstanding”.
Andy Wallace, of Liverpool Vision, said: “This is building on the plan that businesses on Estuary Commerce Park helped put together. We have a fantastic opportunity to make south Liverpool a more pleasant, less congested, and greener place to work.”
