THE former BP chairman, Tony Hayward, who resigned from his job following criticism over his handling of Deep Water Horizon oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, will share in a £270m payout from a new oil and gas venture.
According to weekend reports, he will share the payout with three other partners of the new venture. Mr Hayward announced his intention last week to list Vallares, a £1bn acquisition vehicle for oil and gas assets in the developing world. His return to the helm of a public company comes less than a year after he quit BP.
