Urban Splash secures five tenants at Mersey House in Garston

URBAN Splash has signed up five tenants at its Mersey House development in Garston, in Liverpool.

The Manchester property firm says there are now just two units remaining at the site.

The occupiers include lifestyle company Il Santuario, solicitors Handley Law, post-production agency General Post, cleaning company Poppies and residential accommodation company Palatine.

Each business has taken space within the Grade II-listed building which was converted into small multi- let office space by Urban Splash in 2009.

Paul Jones, of Urban Splash, says Mersey House has attracted a high level of interest from businesses since its conversion two years ago.

He added: “In the past couple of years, we have been dealing with lots of start-up businesses and ones relocating to the area who need small office space, want cost certainty and flexible terms but don’t want to compromise on quality – Mersey House fits the bill perfectly.”

Mersey House forms part of the Matchworks estate.

Initially home to the Bryant and May factory, the art deco buildings on the site were redesigned to create office and studio space.

In 2009, at the time Mersey House was redeveloped, the 20,000 sq ft new build Matchbox was also added.

The next plan for the site will be providing additional space within the estate to create a mix of smaller office spaces for businesses who want to work in well-designed workspace. These will be available from the summer, with accommodation starting from 1,000 sq ft.

Mr Jones added: “Businesses based in Mersey House benefit from being part of the wider Matchworks community.”
