LIVERPOOL brewer Cains has been named as official supplier for Liverpool’s Mathew Street Music Festival.

The Stanhope Street brewery’s beers, including its Export Lager, will be on tap throughout the August Bank Holiday festival, and it will also host a special hospitality area for key sponsors and partners.

It is part of a wider events agreement with Liverpool City Council which will see Cain’s branding across the city at a number of cultural events, including the On the Waterfront River Festival from September 8-15.

Cains joint managing director Sudarghara Dusanj said: “Events like the Mathew Street Festival are the beating heart of Liverpool – great for the city, tourism and businesses like ours.”

Council leader Cllr Joe Anderson added: “It’s a real credit to this local business that during these tough economic times they are still happy to support Liverpool’s events programme.

“Cains is setting a fantastic example to other organisations, and I hope others follow their lead.”
