DESIGN agency Uniform is competing against Liverpool FC for a marketing award – thanks to a campaign that also features the club.
Liverpool-based Uniform has been nominated in the Best Digital Marketing Campaign category of the MBNA Northern Sports Awards 2011 in Manchester tonight.
It was shortlisted for its work creating a “brand experience” for Carlsberg at Anfield to raise awareness of the brand’s association with Liverpool FC.
Uniform commissioned Japanese artist Dragon 76 to create a Liverpool Legends mural. A film of the artist at work has become one of the most watched films on Carlsberg’s website.
It was backed by a global digital marketing campaign to ask fans who their Liverpool legends were.
Uniform’s work is up against Liverpool FC’s own campaign “We Make the Shirt, You Make it Liverpool”.
Nick Howe, managing director of Uniform, said: “Obviously we were delighted to be working with Carlsberg and with the results of the campaign.
“It’s ironic that we’re up against Liverpool FC for the big prize, but we’re confident we can win it.”
