SALES of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles were flat last month, new figures from parent company Tata Motors showed.
The luxury marques achieved total global sales of 19,119 vehicles during July, which was static compared with the same month last year.
Tata’s latest update revealed that Jaguar sales for the period were 4,372, which was 23% lower compared with a year ago.
However, Land Rover managed to increase sales by 8% after consumers purchased 14,747 vehicles.
Cumulative sales of Jaguar Land Rover for the fiscal year so far are ahead by 6% at 81,209.
By brand, Jaguar’s cumulative sales are 15,715, representing a 26% decline, while Land Rover cumulative sales so far are 18% higher at 65,494.
Tata Motors owns three Jaguar Land Rover production plants in the UK, two in the Midlands and the Halewood car plant in Knowsley.
Staffing at Halewood has doubled this year to 3,000 in readiness for the launch of the new Range Rover Evoque which is set to appear in showrooms next month.
The plant also produces the Land Rover Freelander 2.
