ENERGY and Climate Change Minister Charles Hendry is visiting Wirral today as a guest of Wirral West MP Esther McVey.
She has arranged an itinerary of visits and meetings with “green- focused” firms including Mersey Docks owner Peel, ship repair yard Cammell Laird, which is considering an involvement in the manufacture of wind turbines, transport group Stobart and Wirral council.
Ms McVey said: “Wirral is one of the key areas for the Government’s green agenda and I have asked Charles to give his support to businesses in this area.
“I am delighted that he is able to give us some time from his very busy schedule to meet with key stakeholders who are all committed to delivering offshore renewable energy.”
The Minister will also visit Wirral Investment Network (WIN) to meet green energy companies.
WIN president Ms McVey added: “It would be terrific for the minister to see first-hand how Wirral is at the cutting edge of the green agenda.”
