TECHNOLOGY firm Energetix has sold one of its Pnu Power units to a South African firm – and says the deal will help it build a foothold in Africa.
Pnu Power units, developed by Capenhurst-based Energetix, use compressed air-powered turbines to protect electrical installations from power cuts.
One of the units has been bought by Aztec Electronics , which will promote Pnu Power technology to the telecoms sector.
Adrian Hutchings, chief executive of Energetix, said: “Aztec positions itself as one of Africa’s leading suppliers of standby power systems to the South African and broader African telecoms industries.
“Aztec believes there is tremendous potential for Pnu Power systems in South Africa and we are delighted to be working with Aztec.
Aztec’s senior manager, Dean Marcus, said: “We are very excited by Pnu Power systems and look forward to offering it to telecoms and other customers in South Africa.”
