One Park West
LIVERPOOL commercial radio station Juice FM is moving into the heart of the city’s retail district in a £1.1m investment.
The station will relocate from its current home in Fleet Street to Grosvenor’s residential and commercial development, One Park West.
The building overlooks Chavasse Park and the £1bn Liverpool One retail and leisure complex.
Juice, part of the stock market-listed UTV Media group, will not be taking any of its current technical equipment to its new home, but will instead install new kit.
Station director Graham Sarath told LDP Business that the aim was to be in One Park West by January next year.
He said: “This is part of our expansions plans.
“We have been in Fleet Street for 12 years now, and we do love it, but we are now running out of space.
“This is a great opportunity to move to a really prestigious location in the city centre.”
Juice is the second-biggest commercial station in the Liverpool city region, with 193,000 listeners every week. Radio City is the market leader.
It employs more than 30 full-time staff, as well as freelance presenters and producers.
Mr Sarath added: “These are exciting times for Juice.
“We’ve increased the audience significantly in recent years, and this move signals our intention to push on even further.
“One Park West, at Liverpool One, is at the heart of new Liverpool and it truly reflects Juice as a brand.
“To be part of the world-famous waterfront is a real privilege which we want our listeners and clients to enjoy with us.”
The letting is a coup for Grosvenor, which has attracted a range of businesses to the commercial space at One Park West.
Guy Butler, projects director at Grosvenor UK and Ireland, said: “One Park West is already home to 326 apartments, a 24-hour gym, restaurants and now the best radio station in town. Juice FM fits perfectly, and we look forward to getting them here as soon as possible.”
