Skelmersdale builder CPUK wins new £1.3m healthcare contract

SKELMERSDALE builder Construction Partnership UK (CPUK) has won a £1.3m contract for a new state-of-the-art community health centre in Rochdale.

CPUK will build the 9,250 sq ft centre for MedicX, a developer and investor of purpose-built primary care premises, in partnership with a local surgery and NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

It is the latest in a string of medical sector projects won by the firm, which is fast becoming one of the region’s specialists in health sector construction.

The new facility will include eight consulting rooms, two treatment rooms, a nurse treatment room and a MedicX Pharmacy, as well as a 43-space car park.

Work on the two-storey building, situated opposite the existing practice, is expected to be completed next April.

In the past 18 months CPUK has completed £5m worth of North West health projects, including a £1.5m healthcare practice in Preston, with more in the pipeline.

CPUK managing director Steve Burke said: “This contract underlines our growing expertise in the health sector and we are delighted to be working on a flagship healthcare development with such an ambitious and leading operator.”
