Liverpool women’s enterprise organisation chosen by Europe to boost female business start-ups

LIVERPOOL female enterprise agency The Women’s Organisation has been chosen by the European Commission to lead a UK-wide mentoring scheme to encourage women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.

The Women’s Organisation, based in the Baltic Triangle area of the city, is working with the National Council for Enterprise in Education and the Federation of Small Businesses.

The initiative is also being supported by Liverpool council.

Thirty-five mentors will be recruited to share their experiences with 80 women entrepreneurs across the country seeking inspiration, guidance and support to develop their own businesses.

Maggie O’Carroll, The Women’s Organisation chief executive, said: “We are really excited about this opportunity and are delighted that our expertise in the field of women’s enterprise has been recognised by the European Commission.”

The project will be launched later this month.
